Animals of the Park

The Gran Paradiso National Park is a protected area established by the state in order to preserve for present and future generations, ecosystems of national and international importance of the valleys around the Gran Paradiso massif.

The Institution was established with the aim to protect and manage the protected area, for purposes such as the maintenance of the biodiversity of this area and its landscape, the scientific research, environmental education, development and promotion of sustainable tourism.

The Park offers visitors something different each season. Late spring and summer are the months  of floral splendour  and excursions. In autumn the woods are shaded of colours, while chamois enter their mating season. In winter the region is covered in snow, perfect for excursions with snowshoes, cross-country skiing and mountain climbing with the chance to spot many animals.

The Park offers countless options: sports, hiking, excursions, recreational and cultural activities, along with those dedicated to wellness and relaxation.
